:: What folks are saying about SAWMILL ROAD ::

I am the proud recipient of Sawmill Road’s debut, an album that oozes with sparkle and originality and captures the essence of an undeniably hot, killer new bluegrass band. Dave Higgs, Nashville NPR

As the thriving Bluegrass music field gets crowded, it’s a challenge for bands to find something to do that is different, yet solidly bluegrassy, and not the same-old, same-old. Call it “original;” it’s hard to achieve, but all the great bands have it. Well, congratulations to my old pals in Sawmill Road, who’ve just reorganized and recorded a new project, and just made themselves into one powerful, beautiful, and yes, original bluegrass band. I don’t know what the coach said in the locker room at half time, but these guys have hit the field all inspired and ready to knock your socks off. Trust me on this, pal: you want to hear Sawmill Road. – Dan Crary

When my friend called and told me he was performing in a new band called ‘Sawmill Road’, I was genuinely excited for him! When he told me who the rest of the members were, I was excited, not only for Bruce, but for the whole band! Now, after listening to this, their first studio recording, I’m VERY excited for all of us!! Anyone who is familiar with me knows that some of my closest friends and fondest times playing music have been obtained while traveling the ‘left’ side of our great country. I’ve known most of these guys for years, some longer than others, and I’ve always admired their talent, their ‘shameless’ love of the music.....and their friendship. They’re as good as it gets, when it comes to pickin’ and singin’, and their passion for what they’re doing is SO audible on this CD!! Let me put it this way….. if ‘passion’ were gold, then this CD would belong in Fort Knox!! It’s great stuff!! I usually have a few CDs in my car or truck that I listen to while I’m running errands or making a trip somewhere, and this recording by Sawmill Road has been in ‘heavy rotation’ in my CD player! GREAT JOB!!  -  Russell Moore
